To the students of E.T.U.

Greetings aliens!

Here is your task...
  1. Imagine that you are an alien who has justed landed on Earth. You have had no previous contact with human beings or their society. You only had time to study English language before your journey.
  2. Upon arriving on Earth you are eager to learn as much as you can about this society. Your first resource in understanding happens to be a section of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. You read it thoroughly.
  3. After reading this first resource you must report back to the citizens on your home planet. Based on this reading selection you must make some assumptions about what human beings are like, what their daily life is like, what their feelings and opinions are, how they treat each other, any impressions or judgments that you have based on what you have learned by reading A Christmas Carol. Tell your friends back at home what you think! (One page/about 250 - 300 words/double-spaced/12 point font)
Enjoy!

P.S. Do NOT send me your assignment via email or this blog!

hey Mrs. its Jake i just want to know if this is a first person veiw or Third person view ???

Jake,

Excellent question! ;)

It could really go either way: a first person point-of-view would be would be give the writer's (that's you) personal observations of and opinions about human beings. A third person point-of-view would remove the writer (that's you!) from the assignment, which could defeat the whole purpose of this assignment. All of that said...first person might be the better choice.

Cheers!

* REMINDER: this is not late i had it in my book but now u told me to write it in ur blogspot THX :)

Mr. Jones treated the animals unfairly and didnt let them have any of their rights. He shot , killed and slaughtered whenever he felt like it taking no regard for the animals. Mr. Jones worked his animals day and night giving them barely enough food and water to keep them alive and working. He only cared for himself, his benifts, and his money. So I think it is natural for them to rebel and despise all of mankind since they had such a hateful and uncaring man as an example. I personnaly do not blame the animals for revloting against Mr. Jones.
